That time I got punched in the chest…

by my husband.  (It wasn’t on purpose)

The other night, I was LOLing at gifs on my laptop while lying on the couch & decided it was time to put that shit away, so I tried to get up & got stuck midway.  I said my hubby’s name & all of a sudden, he bolted up to see what was wrong (he was sleeping & I didn’t even expect him to wake up, let alone bolt up to my rescue).  He looked at me in my stuck situation & told me to give him the laptop & he’ll take care of it.  I gave it to him along with my my little stand thing that I use with it & my mouse.  Once he has everything & is standing over me, the laptop slides of the stand & onto my chest from about 5 feet in the air.  Awesome.  I just got punched in the chest by a laptop.  I tried to tell my mom that my husband punched me in the chest, but she didn’t believe me.

My Mom Is The Back Up Bidder For My House

Something kind of funny for today…

Apparently, my mom is the back up bidder for the house that I wanted?

hou

(Is that my mom in the window?!)

When we submitted our offer, we went through a different real estate agent/company from who was “offering” the sale.  You know how you see the real estate sign out front with the number to call for information & stuff?  Well, we went with our own agent.  It used to be that you HAD to go with the company that offered it, but they changed the rules a few years ago & you can go with whoever you want.  Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that the people who presented the listing had no idea who we were.

My mom calls up the people who presented the listing & inquires about the property.  They tell her that an offer has been accepted & gave her the amount of the offer.  They then proceed to call my mom like 3 more times & told her that if the offer fell through, they’ll be sure to let her know & if they could do anything else for her in the property department to let them know.

WHAT. THE. FUCK.

I actually submitted an offer the first time & now I have to worry about my mom swooping in & taking this property away from me should it be offered for sale again?

Haha.  It’s funny because my mom wouldn’t do that to me because she’s my mom, but the real estate company doesn’t know that & how many other people have they told the same thing to?

It’s such a cutthroat thing to buy a house!

Vanilla Caramel Spiced Chai Tea

Can we talk about longest blog title ever?  Or not.

I love tea.  I also love adding all kinds of stuff to my tea.

ch

For this drink, I brewed a cup of spiced chai tea in my Keurig & then added sugar, french vanilla creamer & caramel creamer.

It was awesome.

(This would have been the view of our backyard, had our house offer not gone down in flames.)

Back to the drawing board.

Life…it’s a work in progress!

I’m not ready to talk about it, but I thought glossing over the fact that we lost out on a house that we actually tried for would be a little douchebaggy.

The Sickness

Two words can describe my Monday-Sunday last week:

cup

Ginger Ale.

or

Fucking Sick.

Now, I NEVER get sick.  I attribute this to the fact that I was ALWAYS sick as a child, so I feel like I’ve got the antibodies to fight off any virus known to man now.  Well…there was still at least one virus I hadn’t caught & this bitch brought me down.  102 degree temperature for win?  I even called off from work, which I also NEVER do.

Apparently, last week was a big week for NEVERs.

I’ve had this thing for 8 days & I’m just now starting to feel somewhat decent.

It sucked.

Smoothie

You guys:  I’m under the weather.  I’ve got a (slight) sore throat & body aches.  It sucks.

I wanted cold ginger ale, so I put some rainbow sherbet & ginger ale in my Magic Bullet & gave it a whirl.  It was actually pretty good.

Weekend Fun

Another busy weekend is behind me!

Saturday was spent at my family reunion where I won a $50 gift card to Applebees!  Our family is very “go big or go home”, obviously.  Other prizes included a 32in TV & a $50 Red Lobster gift card.  There was also a Chinese auction that was the bomb.com!  I won the Perfect Tortilla & my grandma gave me some wine that she won with another item.  My parents also ended up winning something that we sold to my cousins in our yard sale!

I worked on Sunday & then we went to look at a house!  I know I said I was planning to build, but this house is awesome & still in the same town.  We’re hoping to put an offer in on it this week.

Because my camera is MIA at the moment, here’s an aerial shot of my (hopefully) future home:

Very aerial, yes?

Zensday

Remember when I was telling you about how I got my Zen on with the (Stephen) Seagulls?
Last week, I captured them on video:

I absolutely love those perfect moments & it seems like I get to have them a lot lately.

Not Getting Wild

Confession time:  I never had a “wild” phase.

I’m boring.

Older dudes at work are still telling crazy stories of things that happened to them 20+ years ago & I’m over there like “Hey, I had a Dr. Pepper instead of a Mountain Dew today!” & the disapproving looks start in.

Seriously.  The most wild thing I’ve probably ever done was go with my bff to visit her boyfriend who was traveling for work.  He was only 4 hours away.  At the time, it felt so freaking wild to surprise him & his coworkers with our presence at the hotel they were staying at, but now, I can do that shit all day long & not even feel bad about it.  There was absolutely nothing scary about it.  Ok, maybe when we were driving her tiny car through the state game lands on roads that probably weren’t made for cars, but even then, that was a gray area that I still don’t have the answer to, so we were still probably in the right.

That all happened when I was 18, so I don’t even have any stories about getting all drunk & partying & whatnot.  I got married when I was 20, so that should tell you that I’m just an old maid who didn’t even have a chance to get all cray cray!  Sure, I’ve been to some pretty wild concerts, but I didn’t get so inebriated that I didn’t know what I was doing.

Maybe I just have a difficult time losing control?  Maybe I just like to be the one who doesn’t lose my shit in public?

PS:  My hubs & I actually went back to the town that my bff & I visited & stayed in the fancier hotel next door.  I still fucking love that place!  Milesburg, PA, I heart you!

Graduation Celebration

2013 was the year of high school graduations!  5 of my cousins graduated this year & every single one of them had parties!

[Side note: When I graduated, I didn’t have a party.  Ain’t nobody got time for that.  Well…my cousins’ did, but you know what I mean!]

I’ve been partying all summer long!

Congrats to the class of 2013!
