Just Keep Swimming…

This is one of these weeks where I just have to keep on keepin’ on.  The good totally outweighs the bad & it’s high time for me to suck it up & keep rolling.

I had a total Zen moment in the car @ work this morning.  I was sitting there, getting ready to start work when “Life Ain’t Always Beautiful” by Gary Allan came on the radio.  I looked out the window & there were (Stephen) Seagulls flying & everything was all Zen.  It reminded me that even though there’s going to be hard times & bullshit, life is still a beautiful ride.

If my mom had a blog…

I recently stumbled across a blog written by a mom & daughter & it made me think of how awesome it would be if my mom & I blogged together.  We could share recipes & Netflix recommendations & all of that other awesome stuff that we have in common.  It would totally rock!

Um…except for the fact that my mom doesn’t even know how to turn on a computer!  Aaaand it would probably take her 46,435,344,354,043,094 years to type up her blog entries because she would probably not be the fastest in the typing department.  But, once she mastered those things, she would probably be pretty good!

Also, here’s a picture of us from my old blog:

In all seriousness, my mom is awesome.  She taught me everything I know!

Strawberry Parfait

par2

I absolutely love parfaits!  I whipped this one up the other day for breakfast.

Ingredients: - Vanilla Greek Yogurt
- Fresh Strawberries
- belVita Breakfast Biscuits (Cinnamon Brown Sugar)
Directions: Layer yogurt & strawberries.  Top with crushed biscuits.

-----

I received a VoxBox a while ago that had the belVita biscuits in it & I’ve been hooked on them ever since!  They’re so yummy, especially crushed up as a topping for a parfait.

PS: Sorry this post is so late!  I hit 8PM instead of 8AM & just realized it right now!

Sponsorship Opportunities

Do you want your blog exposed to tens of people every week?

Actual page views!!

If so, I’ve got your sponsorship opportunities right here!

Blog Stats:

2 GFC followers & slowly growing!  So slow that there’s a good chance that I’ll have 100 followers before the next century!  How’s that for growth?  Also, shout out to my two followers, Shana & Lisa!  You rock!

1 follower on Bloglovin!  Spoiler:  it’s me!

1
reader on Feedly!  Spoiler:  Me again!

142 visits during the last month!  Who cares if they’re coming from a place called Vampire Stat, they’re real people, damn it!  Or not...

Other key features of partnering with me:

- I don’t reread my posts before hitting submit!

- I’m awesome!

- I use exclamation points like they’re going out of style!

- I still double space after punctuation!

- My laptop runs on Windows XP & a power cord that’s not even made for it, so it just flails around between having power & not!

- I’ve thrown myself on my bed in a crying fit…in the past 6 months!

Seriously, guys, this is a joke.  Unless you want to sponsor me, then it totally isn’t!

Where did I meet my spouse again?

So…I have this problem.  I forgot where I met my spouse!

Actually, I know where I met my spouse, but for the purposes of Yahoo Mail, I have no right answer.  You see, my email was hacked into or something & it now doesn’t recognize my laptop as one of its approved computers or whatever, so I can’t access it without answering my security question, which is “Where did you meet your spouse?”.  The thing is, I can get my email on my phone, but not on the laptop.

I just think it’s funny that I can’t answer the question!  Next time someone IRL asks me where I met my spouse, I’ll have to tell them that the answer is even above my security level!

-------

Somewhat unrelated, but while I was checking my old email account, I found out that I’m now subscribed to the Highway Patrol email alert thing.  I didn’t sign up for it & it kind of freaks me out.  It’s like I’m being pulled over in my email?!

Why You’ll Never See A Weekly Playlist Here

You guys:  I love music.  Always have & always will.  The thing is, though, I have a weird issue with music: I’ll listen to the same songs over & over.  I pay for Rhapsody & sometimes I’ll ask myself why I even bother because I listen to the same 20 songs over & over.

Rhapsody Playlist
I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22 (is the total number of songs I listen to!)

That’s why you’ll never see a weekly playlist from me…because every week it would be the same songs!

Diverse?  Not me!

Summer Shows

It used to be that when summer came, all of the shows would go on hiatus & there wouldn’t be anything new to watch on a weeknight.  Now, the summer season is its own season for new shows!  As a couch potato, I couldn’t be any happier with the fictional storylines all year round.  Here are a few shows that I’ve gotten into this summer & some that I want to watch:

The Bridge
via

1. The Bridge (FX) | Premieres:  7/10 | About
I’ve been a fan of true crime shows for a while & seemed to have missed the boat on fictional crime shows.  (Confession time:  I’ve never seen an episode of CSI (AnyPlace)!)  I think it’s time I jump on board & get into a good fictional “Get that Guy!” show.  Or it could be that I saw it advertised on my DirecTV & hit record because it’s a summer show.  Either answer works!

Under The Dome
via

2.  Under The Dome (CBS) | Premiered:  6/24 | About
Fun fact:  I knew about this show in advance because a coworker’s son is in it!  I have to say that while I wish the coworker’s son was Mike Vogel, who plays the character ‘Barbie’, so I could come face to face with the hotness, sadly he is only an extra.  The episode he’s in hasn’t aired yet, so he might just be a bigger hottie than ‘Barbie’!

Anyway… The Dome (as I affectionately call it) is awesome.  Basically, a dome (didn’t see that coming, did you?!) falls over this town & everybody loses their shit.  In the first two episodes, there has been so much crazy that my mind has been blown.

Crossing Lines
via

3.  Crossing Lines (NBC) | Premiered:  6/23 | About
I’ve only watched the first episode, but I like this show.  It’s fast paced & deadly (literally!).  I love how each character brings something different to the crime-solving table.  The show is basically about these different police type officers who work together solving crimes in Europe.

Hollywood Game Night
via

4.  Hollywood Game Night (NBC) | Premieres:  7/11 | About
A game night with celebs?  Sign me up!  This one is a reality show where normal people have a pop culture game night with celebrities & could win $25,000!

You can check out more summer shows in this gallery from TV Guide!

The first post

The first post on a new blog always seems like the most difficult so I’m going to cheat & skip it! :)

See ya tomorrow!
